Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has taken another swipe at the Federal Government over its decision to limit the duration of services due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The founder of Love World Ministries a.k.a Christ Embassy expressed dissatisfaction with the decision as he addressed his members during a recent online church service. He stated that the government's time is short because they don't have the right "to tell God’s people you’re going to spend one hour or two hours in church." Pastor Chris said; “I am appalled that some people have the audacity to tell us how many hours we can spend in church. How dare you?. “What in the world do you think you are? You cannot tell God’s people how long they can spend in church. If you built the building for them and you are saying you are not going to let them enter the building, maybe because you built it.“But if you didn’t, you have no right to tell God’s people you’re going to spend one hour or two hours in church. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday July 31, announced that 462 new cases of Coronavirus were confirmed across the country. A breakdown of the new cases across states is as follows; FCT-93, Lagos-78, Plateau-64, Kaduna-54, Oyo-47, Ondo-32, Adamawa-23, Bauchi-19, Rivers-9, Ogun-9, Delta-9, Edo-7 , Kano-6, Enugu-6, Nasarawa-5, Osun-1. There are now 43,151 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the country and 879 deaths has been recorded. 19,565 patients who recovered from the disease have been discharged.

Three Russian teen sisters, Krestina, 19, Angelina, 18, and 17 year old Maria Khachaturyan, charged with killing their father who they claim was physically and sexually abusive towards them, have been accused by family members of lying about the tales of abuse. The explosive allegations against the Khachaturyan sisters were launched by their dead father’s sister and nephew in advance of their trial, which is set to begin Friday July 31, in Moscow for two of the three sisters. According to investigators, Mikhail Khachaturyan's body was found on a staircase in a Moscow apartment in July 2018, with dozens of knife wounds to his chest and neck. 
A few hours before his death, he chastised his three daughters for the dirty apartment and pepper-sprayed their faces. His eldest daughter Krestina, who has asthma, fainted in the process. According to investigators, that was the night when the Khachaturyan sisters decided to kill their father as they attacked him with a hammer, a knife, and the same pepper spray he had used on them earlier, as he slept in July 2018. According to interrogation transcripts leaked to the press, the young women tried to inflict wounds on themselves to make it seem as if their father, who was sleeping at the start of the attack, had struck them with a knife first. Then they called the police and an ambulance. 
After the three were arrested, they confessed to the killing, saying they had endured years of sexual, physical and emotional abuse from their father, but said they killed him in self defence. They were first charged with pre-meditated murder last summer, but after a string of protests and demonstrations in Russia over the case, under the "I did not want to die" campaign, authorities reclassified the case around the sisters' self-defense. But in a stunning reversal, Viktor Grin, the same prosecutor who first recommended downgrading the case, confirmed in May that premeditated murder charges would be laid against the sisters. This comes after Naira Khachaturyan, the aunt of Maria, Angelina and Krestina Khachaturyan, claimed on Andrey Malakhov’s ‘Let Them Talk’ program, that the sisters had conspired to kill their father, Mikhail, beause he planned to emigrate to Israel when all his daughters were 18.“They knew they could live the way they want if they got rid of their father,” Khachaturyan said on TV. “They wanted to delete him from their lives,” she said. Naira Khachaturyan also claimed the official investigation has found no evidence of sexual violence against the teenagers. Medical tests showed two of the three were virgins, she claimed, while the third had a secret boyfriend. Arsen Khachaturyan, Mikhail’s nephew added: “Sexual violence, other violence, there was nothing of that. The girls decided to kill their father, they conspired a while ago.” Arsen Khachaturyan claimed that one of the sisters had inflicted wounds on the other two which they later blamed on violence by their father. 
Their trial begins today, Friday, July 31st in a Moscow courtroom and the two elder sisters, Krestina and Angelina, will stand trial together. The younger one Maria, was a minor at the time of the killing but got indicted after she turned 18. She has been deemed as mentally unfit to commit a murder and will be tried separately on a murder charge according to their lawyer, Aleksey Liptser. In text conversations obtained from their father's phone and published on Facebook by Liptser, Mikhail Khachaturyan appeared to have threatened to kill them and sexually abuse them and their mother."I will beat you up for everything, I will kill you," says one text from April 2018, accusing them of having sexual relations with a male friend. "You are prostitutes and you will die as prostitutes." The interrogation transcripts also painted series of mental, physical and sexual abuse for years."We think that they had no other choice. The father drove the girls to despair, their whole life was a continuous hell. They cannot be compared to healthy, calm and balanced people ... [the] girls developed serious mental illnesses, including abuse syndrome and post-traumatic stress disorder. This was confirmed by all examinations in the case," said one of the sisters' lawyers, Aleksey Parshin.The post 
Top Republicans in the House of Representatives and Senate have openly dismissed President Donald Trump's suggestion on Thursday July30, that November's presidential election should be delayed till when people can go out and vote safely without fear of the Covid-19 pandemic. On Thursday, Trump tweeted, "With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???" 
Mail-in voting is a type of voting system where people don't have to go to the voting booth, as they can vote from the safety of their homes using mails. Trump fearful of loosing at the polls to Biden this November has argued that the election could be marred by large scale rigging and voting irregularities. According to the Republicans, most of them Trump allies, the President has no authority to change the voting date because the Constitution gives Congress the power to set the date for voting. Republican Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming said in an interview on Fox Business on Friday July 30; "No, we're not going to delay the election," adding, "We're going to have the election completed and voting completed by Election Day.""I don't think that's a particularly good idea." Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican said to CNN"I think that's probably a statement that gets some press attention, but I doubt it gets any serious traction," "I think we've had elections every November since about 1788, and I expect that will be the case again this year," Majority Whip Sen. John Thune, a member of Republican leadership told CNN when asked about Trump's tweet. GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois tweeted, "Reminder: Election dates are set by Congress. And I will oppose any attempts to delay the #2020Election." House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy of California said;"Never in the history of federal elections have we ever not held an election and we should go forward with our election," "No way should we ever not hold our election on the day that we have it." Former Chelsea coach, Avram Grant has joked he would have been "sent to Siberia" by Roman Abramovich had he led Chelsea to a fourth-placed finish just like Frank Lampard did with the club this season. Chelsea's 2-0 victory over Wolves on the final day of the season placed them in fourth position and ensured Lampard's side will be playing in the Champions League next season. In his only season at the club in 2007-08, Grant guided Chelsea to a second-placed finish in the Premier League, while the club lost to Tottenham in the EFL Cup final before losing to Manchester United on penalties in the Champions League final. The Commissioner of Police (CP) Rivers state, Joseph Mukan has transferred the case of alleged rape on a 32-year-old widow by a policeman to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). The rape victim alleged that a four-man police team arrested her on Tuesday night, July 28 for not wearing a face mask, but, rather than take her to the station, they took her to a guest house where one of them named Inspector Peter Iba raped her all night “at gunpoint” (read here). She said they arrested her at Sakpenwan, Tai Local Government Area, for not wearing face mask while she was in transit on a Port Harcourt bound vehicle from Bori. CP Mukan on Thursday opened investigations into the matter with summon on the four man police team and the victim, transferring the case file to the SCID after hearing from both parties. Police Spokesman, Rivers Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, stated that, “The CP ordered the matter investigated. She (victim) made her statement yesterday (Wednesday) and today (Thursday) we were at Tai Police Station. Unfortunately the men that had encounter with the lady are not from Tai Police Station as she insinuated. They were rather from Mobile Police Base 56 at Bori. “Today all the parties were here. After hearing from them, the matter is being investigated. CP has directed transfer of case file to SCID for further investigations at the end of which the report will be made public. “They (suspects) made a lot of denials and confessions, but the investigations will reveal what happened. Witnesses will be involved, scene of crime visited and other things to follow in course of investigations.” He said the “accused officers were with the Rivers Police Command. Definitely they will be invited to the SCID and we will keep the public informed”.The post 
A woman who recently gave birth to a baby revealed that the doctor who helped to deliver her baby is the same doctor who helped her mum to give birth to her 25 years ago. Lauren Cortez recently welcomed a son with her husband. When she went to the hospital to give birth, the doctor on duty, who helped her deliver her baby, turned out to be the same doctor on duty who helped her mother to birth her. Lauren shared photos of the doctor carrying her on the day she was born 25 years ago and another photo of the same doctor carrying her son after he was born days ago. She wrote: "25 years later, the doctor who delivered me also delivered our son!!"

Award winning actor, Desmond Elliot, has partnered with reputable crowdfunding platform, Giving.Ng to lend his voice in support of health workers across the country. Desmond, who is also a member of the Lagos State house of Assembly shared a video on his Instagram page stating that there is a need for those taking care of the sick to also be taken care of. Giving.Ng announced a crowdfunding campaign to support health workers who are on the front-line of the coronavirus pandemic a few weeks ago. The fund was set up to help take care of their hazard allowances as most of them in Nigeria earn just N5,000(appr. $14) monthly. The Fund pays them a minimum of one hundred thousand naira monthly and is governed by a diverse and multi-sectoral board led by Dr. Olaokun Soyinka, a leading public health practitioner. According to Olapeju Ibekwe, the project manager, Giving.Ng, she noted that as the cases of infected Nigerians continue rising and the public is advised to practice social distancing, health workers have no choice but to go daily to take care of the sick.‘Some of them have not hugged their wives and children in the past 3 months just to protect their family from being infected. They definitely need our support. We are proud to partner with notable Nigerians like Desmond Elliot at this critical time for the benefit of frontline workers fighting the COVID-19 scourge. The music video for Beyonce's song 'Already', featuring Shatta Wale and Major Lazer has been released. The American singer shared the video on her Instagram. She revealed that shooting the video started in her backyard. She added that some scenes were shot in Shatta Wale's hometown, Ghana. 
The singer performed a number of Nigerian and African dances in the video, including the popular Leg work and Gbese dance moves.

A mother-of-five, Nafisa Ibrahim, 38, was found dead in her room in Kaduna State and her relations have accused her husband of killing her. Her husband, a security guard identified as Nuhu, is allegedly on the run after his wife was found dead in their single room apartment in Mahuta, Igabi Local Government area of Kaduna. Malam Mohammed Bashir, who claimed to be a guardian to the deceased, stated that the husband is at large. Speaking to journalists at Mahuta community, he said: "The incident happened on Tuesday at the house where her husband, Nuhu, worked as a security guard. “Her relations came from Plateau State over the issue. The husband and his late wife shared the same room in the uncompleted building, while the daughters stayed in a different room. No one can tell who killed her but her relations point an accusing finger at the husband. He ran away. “All his personal belongings were removed from the room. We suspect him because they slept together in the room but when his wife’s body was found, he was nowhere to be found. “Her daughter discovered the lifeless body inside the one-apartment room where they were squatting with the husband. She tried to wake the mother up thinking she was still asleep, but when she realised she was not moving, she ran out of the room crying. She rushed to my house and told me that her mother was dead. "So, I went to the house and discovered that she was dead. We saw a rope tightened on her neck which made us believe that she was murdered. “As her guardian, I was aware that they used to have altercations and I always intervened. She left five children, but four of the children were from a previous marriage, while a daughter belongs to the current husband." The post
