On Wednesday morning, September 30, US President Donald Trump faced Democratic challenger Joe Biden in the first election debates. The debate took place in Ohio and was moderated by Fox News anchor, Chris Wallace.During the feisty debates which saw attacks thrown between the two candidates, Trump claimed he paid millions in federal income taxes after a New York Times report alleged he paid just $750 as income tax in 2016 and 2017.Trump also refused to condemn White Supremacists telling them to 'stand down and stand by' while Biden told him to 'shut up' when he was constantly interrupted by the president.Trump also brought up drug addiction allegations against Biden's son, Hunter, while Biden said he will accept the outcome of the election no matter the results.Social media users of course reacted to the cagey animal-like debate which saw both candidates come for each other with Trump mostly ignoring time warnings set by host Chris Wallace.See some reactions below. Chris Wallace: "Are you willing, tonight, to condemn white supremacists and militia groups and to say that they need to stand down..."Trump: "Proud Boys, stand back and stand by! But I'll tell you what, somebody's got to do something about antifa and the left." pic.twitter.com/4vrPocKzcu— Axios (@axios) September 30, 2020.@GStephanopoulos: "I have to speak personally here...that was the worst presidential debate I have ever seen in my life." https://t.co/5Bl4Ob3O2t #Debates2020 pic.twitter.com/FxMlSbshiw— ABC News (@ABC) September 30, 2020"Mr. President, let him answer!""Mr. President, please stop."Moderator Chris Wallace repeatedly tries to keep Pres. Trump from interrupting Joe Biden."It's hard to get any word in with this clown," Biden says, "excuse me, this person." https://t.co/5Bl4Ob3O2t #Debates2020 pic.twitter.com/4wjCUTdzns— ABC News (@ABC) September 30, 2020The post #Debates2020: Social media reacts after Trump and Joe Biden engage in chaotic and messy presidential debate appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
